Brands 🎨

All Ethnio plans can create a brand to automatically populate screeners, study links, incentives, scheduling, and study invite emails with the right logo, accent color, and subdomain for links. Depending on your plan, you can create multiple brands.

Redeem pages are now powered by your brand. The font, colors, and shadows that are defined in home > brands will control all participant-facing pages in your study, including incentive redeem pages. To make any changes to how redeem pages look, head to home > brands and modify the brand or create a new one.

Keep in mind only account owners or admins can create or edit brands.

Head to Home > Brands to get started, and search for your organization's name:

We'll take our best guess at the logo and accent color for your brand based on what you select. You can of course replace those with any logo, subdomain, and brand color that you'd like:

Using AI match 🤖

When you create a new brand by typing an organization name into the search field, Ethnio uses AI to suggest a complete set of brand styles for you automatically. This includes fonts for headings and body text, an accent color, button border radius, and container shadows. The AI only sends the name of the brand to look things up — no other data from your account is included. You can always override any individual setting after the AI populates it. AI match is available on all plans.

How the brand is applied to participant-facing experiences

Any brand you create can be used to customize the entire study flow to match your brand and design preferences. This includes configuring the study invite email from Pool, the screener logo and button colors, scheduling emails, and the incentive redeem flow. Below are detailed instructions for each area.

Pool Emails & Study Invites

Use the drag-and-drop editor to design your Pool emails, ensuring a clear and consistent structure across all clients and devices. The editor allows you to:

  • Add dividers and spacers to organize content.
  • Set image and logo sizes.
  • Adjust button width and HEX colors.
  • Add an accessibility contrast ratio for better readability.

To add a logo to your screener:

  1. Prepare your logo in JPEG, GIF, or PNG format.
  2. Upload the logo to Ethnio. It will be automatically resized to 300px by 80px but displayed at half this size for optimal appearance on retina and high-density screens.
  3. If you prefer no server-side resizing, pre-size your logo to 300px by 80px.

Note: Different aspect ratios will result in different display sizes. For instance, a 90px by 90px logo will appear as 40px by 40px in Ethnio.

Scheduling Emails

To add and customize a logo in your scheduling emails:

  1. Drag and drop your JPEG or PNG logo into the scheduling email template.
  2. Resize the logo to fit your design specifications.

Incentive Redeem Pages & Emails

You can customize the incentive redeem page to reflect your branding by:

  • Adding your logo.
  • Selecting an icon from the preset list.
  • Defining the button style, including borders and shadows.
  • Setting the HEX color for various elements such as the page background, accents, text, and blocks.

This level of customization ensures that every interaction with your participants is consistent and professionally branded, enhancing their overall experience.

Advanced brand options

For any new or existing brand, toggle over to advanced to really design how all your participant-facing pages look.

Fine-grained control over how your participant-facing pages look

In the advanced area, you can setup different fonts for headings, border radius for buttons, even container shadow options. This is a great place to send a designer or anyone who wants to fine-t

Logo width

You can set the width of your logo in pixels using the slider, which ranges from 50px to 300px. This controls how large the logo appears on redeem pages, scheduling pages, and beta editor study links. Note that this setting does not apply to intercepts. The default is 120px. We recommend uploading your logo as an SVG or PNG for the sharpest result, but JPEGs and GIFs are also supported. The recommended image size is 1024x480px.

Regular text

Font face lets you choose the typeface used for all body copy on participant-facing pages. You can select any font from the dropdown, or use the AI match button to have Ethnio automatically suggest a font that fits your brand. Default font size controls the baseline size of body text, adjustable from 12px to 24px with a default of 16px.

Headings

Headings have their own independent font face and size controls. Like regular text, you can pick any font from the dropdown or use AI match to get a suggestion. The default heading size is 20px, and you can adjust it from 12px to 24px. You can also set the font weight for headings to either Bold or Regular, which lets you create a lighter, more editorial feel if your brand calls for it.

Buttons

There are several controls for how buttons appear across your participant-facing pages.

Border radius adjusts how rounded the corners of buttons are, from 0px (perfectly square) to 36px (fully rounded pill shape). The default is 5px.

Button style lets you choose between Solid (a filled button in your primary brand color) and Outline (a transparent button with a colored border). Solid is the default and tends to work best for primary calls to action.

Button text color sets the color of the text label inside buttons. This defaults to white (#FFFFFF ) but can be changed to any hex color, which is useful if you are using a light accent color where dark text would be more readable.

Button font weight controls whether the text inside buttons is Bold or Regular, independent of your heading and body font weight settings.

Inputs

Border radius for inputs works the same way as the button border radius, letting you control how rounded text fields and other form inputs appear. The range is 0px to 36px with a default of 4px. Keeping this close to your button border radius value usually produces the most visually consistent result.

Page

Page background color sets the background color of participant-facing pages. This defaults to a light neutral (#f8f9f9 ). You can enter any hex value here, though lighter colors tend to ensure the content remains readable.

Parent block

The parent block is the main white container that wraps the content on participant-facing pages, such as the box that holds scheduling times or reward amounts.

Parent block border radius controls how rounded the corners of that container are, from 0px to 50px. The default is 8px.

Parent box shadow controls the depth of the drop shadow behind the container. You can choose from Small, Medium, Large, or None. A small shadow is the default and adds a subtle sense of depth without being distracting.

Brand preview

Any changes you make in the advanced brand options panel are reflected in real time in the brand preview on the right side of the screen. The preview shows a sample header, body text, input field, button in your accent color, and a sample link. Use it to check how your choices look together before saving.

Saving your brand

Once you are happy with your settings, click Create brand (for new brands) or save your changes (for existing brands). Changes apply immediately to all participant-facing pages that use that brand.
