Skip asking participants for info you already have
Already have someone's name and email? No need to make them type it again in your screener. If you invite participants from your study, Ethnio can pre-fill their contact details for you, and you can even hide those questions completely.
Import your participants 📥
Add the people you already have, so Ethnio knows who they are.
Head to your study >> Study plan >> Key elements and turn on Import participants under "Include in study." Then open Import Participants and add your list. You can bring people in from CSV or XLSX, a Google Sheet URL, or Snowflake.
Before you import, check that you have an Email column, one header row with your column names, unique column names (duplicates will throw an error), and any multi-select answers separated by a semicolon. There are CSV, XLSX, and Google Sheets templates right on the import screen if you'd like a head start.
Pick who gets the invite 👥
Choose the participants you just imported as your audience.
Go to Study Invite >> Audience. You'll be taken here automatically after importing. Select the people you want, and you'll see them tee up in Send Study Invite to.
Turn on Prepopulate contact fields ✅
This is the part that fills in their details automatically.
In the Study Invite, set up your email by picking your template, subject, and button, then switch Prepopulate contact fields to On. While you're there, double-check the From name and Reply to. Now when participants click through, their contact info comes with them into the screener, already filled in.
Let them edit it or lock it 🔒
Pre-filled fields stay editable unless you hide them.
If you leave a contact question visible, participants see it pre-filled and can change it if they need to. If you'd rather lock their name, email, or phone so they can't change it, hide the question instead. See "Hiding contact questions" for how that works.
