Disabling automatic data collection

For account owners only, you can stop Ethnio from collecting certain types of data.

Metadata – IP, location via GeolP, fingerpint, browser user agent string, and referrer URL
Social lookup – using FullContact
Timezone collection – for scheduling questions (will be UTC)

Some participants will have social data that might help you decide if they are a good fit for your research. We use an API from FullContact to provide some more information for participants that have publicly available information.

How fingerprinting works in Ethnio

This is a combination of browser-specific attributes including:

Display resolution
Color depth
Fonts
Timezone
GeoLocation

There are many other items as well: up to 30 signals to create each fingerprint. We don't share them all so we don't give the bots too much to work with. This applies to all publishing methods (study links, web intercepts, and app intercepts).
