As part of our ongoing commitment to email deliverability, we've made some improvements to the way Pool emails work in Ethnio:
- Audience summary in email distributions to see exactly who is included
- New templates organizer with sorting and actions
- Drag & Drop email editor and templates that use content blocks
- HTML Templates now refer to all past email templates in Pool
- Subject Performance to tell you how each subject you use impacts opens/engagement
- Accessibility Contrast indicator to show how your colors will work with assistive devices
Please note your existing emails in Pool have not changed at all, and are just labeled as HTML Templates. You can differentiate between the two types on Pool >> Email >> Templates or when you're sending a distribution (see screenshot below).
The emails in Pool have always allowed you direct access to the underlying HTML code, which is great for advanced use cases or pasting existing inline HTML from other email tools, but can also lead to problems for anyone not wanting to deal with source code. The new drag & drop editor allows much faster editing with better results in the inbox of your recipients. Here's a quick way to think about the differences:
Feature | HTML | Drag & Drop |

Migrating Existing HTML Templates to Drag & Drop
If you'd like to start using the drag & drop templates with existing HTML content, you can migrate them over but please keep in mind it's a manual process to create the structure of the email properly, so it takes a bit of work. Read all about it in the migration guide here.
