If you've removed Ethnio JavaScript but are still seeing pageviews: Ghost Traffic
If you've removed Ethnio code from your site or tag manager and are still seeing pageviews after 72hrs, not to worry. In most cases, a very small trickle of traffic from search engines and DNS will trick Ethnio into thinking your code is still live for up to 1-2 weeks, sometimes called "Ghost Traffic."
There are two places to verify this.
1. Traffic Details: displaying low Pageviews
The first place to check is Account >> Plan & Usage >> Traffic Details.
The important thing to double check is Pageviews for the last 7 days. If the traffic for the last 7 days is very low (<10k Pageviews) you are just experiencing ghost traffic.
(The example below indicates ghost traffic because the pageviews are only 3.39K.)
2. The webpage source code
Start by going to screeners >> publish, and if you see the green "live" indicator, click on that URL.
Then using any browser, double-click, then go to Inspect >> Source and search for “ethn.io”. If you can't find it, then you have definitely removed the code and it's only ghost traffic.
If you do find ethn.io in the source then you would need to contact your technical team to remove the Ethnio code.
