👁️ Preview of study links, screeners, and those asterisks, and arrows ⬇️ ✳️

The fastest way to preview a study or screener is to use the quick preview button from the top of the Ethnio when logged in to Ethnio and after selecting a study or screener. That opens up preview where you see how participants might view your study, screener, or intercept.

How has preview changes?

You might notice some changes to the previews of your screener or study. We've cleaned up a few things, and hopefully clarified some of the most confusing things about preview:

  • Logic is a bit easier to toggle on or off
  • More space for desktop or mobile options
  • Friendlier eyeball icon

Logic: the arrows or asterisks only show in preview

👉 Participants will never see asterisks or arrows in their actual study or screener

It's only shown in preview to help you see how logic is setup for certain answers

If you use qualifying questions, filters for 3rd Party URL, or drill down questions. Keep in mind if you see any asterisks, that is only in preview mode and your participants will never see those. This is designed to show you which responses will yield a "congrats" page. ⚙️ Options in preview

Localization language 🗣️

If you're using localization to support multiple simultaneous languages in your study, you can select the language under options. Please note you might also see the same language dropdown selection that your participants will see.

📲 Options for web intercepts or app intercepts

If you're publishing your study or screener as a web intercept or app intercept, then the following options will apply.

Screenshots for intercepts

Upload an example of your web or app in either desktop or mobile to see what an Ethnio intercept might look like, and you can share the preview link with your team.

Delay for intercepts

Also for web or app intercepts, if you've set a delay you can choose to preview that delay or not.

⏱️ Setup a delay under Publish if you've selected Web Intercept as the publishing method

Targeting

This applies only if you're publishing to a web intercept or app intercept, and have turned on targeting. In preview, we'll notify you that targeting is on as a reminder that your intercept might only show for a small subset of your web or app visitors.
