Subjects in pool email distributions

Your subject has a massive impact on conversion and open rates for any email distribution. We show you the last few subjects (Drag & Drop Editor only) and how they performed to help you optimize. There are two places we store subjects for both pool distributions and study invites:

  1. The sent distribution or study invite (this populates subject performance)
  2. Pool Email Templates which is new as of May 2025

📝 Study Personalization & Subjects

we added subject to pool email templates in order to support new personalization by studies. Now if you select a study, you can personalize the subject with details about that study like incentive amount or study duration, etc.

tldr; we're making templates behave more like templates in the traditional sense

Engagement vs Opens vs Delivered

You'll see a percentage for engagement which represents opens and clicks out of your total recipients. If you open up any of those distributions, you can see the details on how many opens or clicks there were. Multiple opens from a single recipient can cause the numbers to be a bit confusing, so please keep that in mind.

How the data works

Opened is the number of opens divided by the number of delivered emails in any given distribution.

General Tips

  • Keep it short - no more than 9 words and 60 characters.
  • Avoid spam filter language like "free" or "win"
  • Use emojis carefully - most researchers don't use these but it can grab attention in moderation (sorry for the terrible research joke ;-)
  • No more than 3 punctuation marks per subject line.

Why can't I see my most recent distribution?

In order to show up in subject performance, we need at least 15% engagement. If you just sent a distribution.
