Global JavaScript activation code for web intercepts 🌐

In most cases, the easiest way to implement Ethnio JavaScript is to create one or more Global JavaScript Activation Codes in your Ethnio account, then place them in your tag manager for all pages on your site.

Creating global JS activation codes

Head to Studies > Settings > Manage Global JS which is the on the top right All Studies:

After you open that up and click Manage Global JS, it will take you here:

Publishing a study using global JS

From inside a study, make sure you have publish set to web intercept, and then head to the publish page, and select global JS. This is where you can add URL targeting.

Viewing and tracking global JS codes

Account owners and admins can see the Plan & Usage page, which lists how much traffic (measured in pageviews) each Global JS code receives per month.

Subdomains & cookies

Let’s say you have a bunch of subdomains like pink.penguins.com and blue.penguins.com. If you put the ethnio JavaScript in a global footer, please note that a visitor to both subdomains has a chance of viewing an Ethnio intercept more than once. Unfortunately, this is due to the way session cookies work, and is out of the ethnio wizards’ control.
