Diary studies

To run diary studies with Ethnio, simply set your Study type to Diary study, then specify the diary tool you’ll be using, whether that’s Dscout, Maze, Miro, or any other tool that supports your workflow.

You can also define how the study will run by selecting: moderated, unmoderated, or a hybrid (a combination of both). This flexibility is especially helpful if you want to run a diary studies in Dscout while managing moderated sessions through Ethnio Scheduling.

Study Targets

Next, configure your study timeline, along with the diary study parameters:

Study start and end dates
Estimated time per diary activity (e.g., 20 mins)
Number of activities (e.g., 8 activities)
Estimated time to complete the full diary study (e.g., 2 weeks)

Incentives for Diary Studies

Ethnio automatically calculate the total incentive based on:

Number of activities × Incentive amount per activity = total incentive amount

For example:

8 activities x $25 per 20min activity = $200 total incentive amount

This ensures incentives remain aligned with participant effort and study expectations.
